topside Reports


Summary - September 11, 2024

Topside- The topside received a full cleaning including the cover. The topside was washed with a soft-bristle brush to gently remove all dust and salt. She was then chamois dried to avoid water spots. All hatch lids, seals, and drain channels were cleaned and dried. All of the bright works was wiped down and polished with microfiber cloth.

Metals- All metals were buffed by hand with microfiber cloth. Flitz metal polish and protectant was used to really shine any metals that were looking dull.

Glass- The glass and hatches were cleaned with a 50/50 distilled water and vinegar solution and then hand buffed to a shine.

Anchor & Windlass - The anchor locker was cleaned and then protected with Meguiar’s 143 protectant. Ther anchor and windlass were polished by hand with a microfiber cloth.

Swim Platform- The swim platform was scrubbed with a medium bristled brush to remove the built up of dirt and grime on the teak.

Interior - All hard surfaces in the cabin were wiped down by hand. The cabin was vacuumed and the sole was polished by hand. The metals, sink basins, port holes, light fixtures, etc were polished with microfiber cloth. All upholstery was wiped clean of dust and debris. Hatch drain channels were wiped clean.

Helm - The helm and all controls were wiped clean with the screens polished, metals polished, and switches dusted.

NOTE - Scratches were found midship on the starboard side in the Awl Grip Paint. It looks like impact damage, possibly from a wind blown dock cart or something similar. We will try to buff out as much as we can. Pictures are included below.

summary - april 26 , touch up for guests

Keeper received a touch up cleaning in preparation of guests coming onboard for the weekend. Cockpit cushions were spot cleaned and set up. We also installed new fender covers on all of the fenders.

Topside- The topside was washed with a soft-bristle brush and wax preserving soap to gently remove all dust and salt. She was then dried with a clean chamois mop to avoid water spots. The gelcoat was then wiped down with Meguiar’s detailing wax for extra protection and shine.

All hatch lids, seals, and drain channels were cleaned and dried. All of the bright works was wiped down and polished with microfiber cloth.

Anchor & Windlass - The anchor locker was cleaned and then protected with Meguiar’s 143 protectant. Ther anchor and windlass were polished by hand with a microfiber cloth.

The metals, sink basins, port holes, light fixtures, etc were polished with microfiber cloth. The head was cleaned and sanitized. All upholstery was wiped clean of dust. The teak deck from helm to transom was washed with with a medium bristle brush and rinsed clean. The hatch drain channels were cleaned and protected with Meguiar’s 143.

Hatches & Cabinets: All storage areas were opened up, cleaned and organized.

Helm - The helm and all controls were wiped clean with the screens polished, metals polished, and switches dusted.

Cabin: The cabin and brows of Keeper were a touch dull looking so they were polished with a random orbital polisher and protected with Jescar polymer wax.

Glass- The glass and hatches were cleaned with a 50/50 distilled water and vinegar solution and then hand buffed to a shine.

Swim Platform- The swim platform was scrubbed with a medium bristled brush to remove the built up dirt and grime on the teak. The teak was brightened with Sea Bright Teak 2 step clean 7 brighten.

Interior - All hard surfaces in the cabin were wiped down by hand. The cabin was vacuumed and the sole was polished by hand. The metals, sink basins, port holes, light fixtures, etc were polished with microfiber cloth. All upholstery was wiped clean of dust and debris. The teak deck from helm to transom was washed with with a medium bristle brush and rinsed clean. The hatch drain channels were cleaned.

The topside was washed with a mild, wax preserving soap and a soft-bristle brush to gently remove all dust and salt. She was then dried with a clean chamois mop to avoid water spots. All hatch lids, seals, and drain channels were cleaned and dried. Meguiar’s synthetic x-press spray wax was applied and hand buffed.

Metals- All metals were wiped down and protected with Starbrite chrome and stainless polish.

Glass- The glass was cleaned with a 50/50 distilled water and vinegar solution and then hand buffed to a shine.

Swim Platform- The swim platform was scrubbed with a medium bristled brush to remove the built up dirt and grime on the teak from wave action.

Summary: march

Metals- All metals were wiped down and protected with Starbrite chrome and stainless polish.

Glass- The glass was cleaned with a 50/50 distilled water and vinegar solution and then hand buffed to a shine.

Swim Platform- The swim platform was scrubbed with a medium bristled brush to remove the built up dirt and grime on the teak from wave action.
